I have been a teacher for too many years to count. I’ve taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. And to be honest I’ve taught just about everything because I homeschooled my 4 oldest children, 2 of whom have graduated from college (Texas A&M ‘18 and ‘20) and the other two are still in college (UT Arlington). The youngest is a student at SJS. I have been married for over 30 years. North Texas State University is my alma mater and I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.

Cats are my favorite and I have 8 of them. I’ll be glad to share stories of my furry friends and maybe even read a Pete the Cat book to you. My family backpacks for a week to two weeks at a time on the Appalachian Trail each summer. Ask me about the trail. I have a really good book for that, too. I am working on a Master’s Degree and spend a lot of time reading for that.

Why in the world do I want to be a librarian? My high school job, besides being a student, was working in the public library. That’s where all of the nerds worked. It was there that I fell in love with books. I decided then that I wanted to be a librarian. Things worked out strangely and I became a teacher instead. Until now! After so many years I finally get to be in my dream job. I get to help children discover new worlds and exciting adventures, learn new words, laugh until their sides hurt, and feel compassion for a character in a book who might be hurting. I hope you will come see me and let me help you find just the perfect book for you.

Blessings,

The Librarian
